Fluorescent Light Therapy.
Phovia Light Therapy is a non-invasive treatment which uses Fluorescent Light Energy (FLE) to to reduce inflammation and accelerate skin regeneration. It is comprised of a two part system, an LED lamp and a special chromophore gel which produces multi-wavelength FLE that can penetrate the skin to variable depths.

Phovia is a non-invasive treatment, and sessions are generally brief, depending on the number and size of the areas being treated.
During your pet’s appointment, our veterinary team will:
Prepare the treatment area– The surrounding fur may be clipped or shaved if needed to allow effective treatment.
Clean the skin – The affected area is gently cleaned with saline to prepare the skin for treatment.
Apply the chromophore gel – A thin layer of specialised gel is applied to the treatment area.
Apply the LED light – A blue LED lamp is positioned over the gel for two minutes per treatment area, activating the fluorescent light energy to support the skin’s natural healing processes.
The treatment is generally well tolerated and does not usually require sedation, helping your pet remain comfortable throughout the session.

Phovia can be used for a range of conditions such as:
Wounds (including surgical incisions and non-healing wounds)
Hot spots and acute dermatitis
Chronic or recurrent skin infections
Pressure sores
Post-operative healing

The recommended treatment protocol depends on the type of wound or skin condition being treated, its severity and how your pet responds to therapy.
We typically perform two consecutive treatment sessions during a single visit. Depending on your pet's individual needs, additional sessions may be recommended, generally within seven days of the previous treatment.

Yes. Phovia may be incorporated into a broader treatment plan alongside other appropriate therapies, depending on your pet's condition. This may include medication, wound care or other treatments recommended by our veterinarians.
